Misty: An Underdog Story - Jeff H

Misty was surrendered to Adopt A Golden Nashville by a breeder. She was used as breeding stock her entire life and had little to no interaction with humans on a daily basis. When our volunteer went to pick up Misty, she was so scared she was practically crawling on the ground. She did not understand this kind AGN volunteer was there to change her world to one of love, compassion, and understanding. Misty was given a complete physical and medical evaluation by our vet staff. She had a cancerous mammary tumor, which was removed. She was also spayed and received all necessary veterinary care. She was placed in a loving foster home where she learned to receive and give love, play with toys, and interact with other dogs. Misty was recently adopted by a wonderful woman in the Nashville area. Her new mom is a retired pediatric RN with experience volunteering in shelters and rescuing furry family members. Misty's new mom and brother, a rescued lab mix named Chance, were heartbroken after their sheepdog went to the rainbow bridge this summer. They are both excited to have another walking and gardening buddy. AGN is thrilled that sweet Misty has found the perfect home where she finally gets to live inside and be part of a loving family. The generosity of our partner Downtown Nashville Subaru allows rescued pups like Misty to have a very happy second chance at life!

Kimbro: An Underdog Story - Jeff H

Kimbro found his way to Adopt A Golden Nashville after being picked up as a stray by a local animal shelter. He was quite thin, and it was clear from his matted coat and infected skin that he had been on his own for quite some time. AGN picked Kimbro up from the shelter and had him treated immediately by our vet staff. It took several months to gain weight and get his coat and skin back to a healthy condition. Kimbro was also diagnosed with a benign tumor in his ear. The tumor was successfully removed, and he has been given a clean bill of health. Kimbro was placed in a loving foster home where he learned to receive and give love, play with toys, enjoy daily walks, and enjoy life as a member of the family. Kimbro was recently placed in his forever home with a retired veterinarian and her husband who love him dearly! He takes daily walks and has plenty of toys to play with. He gets to sleep with his new owners at night and cuddle on the couch during town time in the evenings while watching tv. He truly got his happily ever after. We wouldn't have these wonderful stories to share without the generosity of wonderful partners like Downtown Nashville Subaru!

Craft Kit and Blanket bring Smile to Patient - Jeff P

It was such an honor for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – Tennessee Chapter to join with Downtown Subaru Nashville to deliver blankets, craft kits and messages of hope to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center and Centennial Children’s Hospital. One young man and his father Allen were thrilled to have visitors stop by their room. Our little patient loved the blanket, and immediately opened the craft kit which brought him a big smile. I can just imagine the joy these will bring to many other patients and families in each hospital. Thank you Downtown Subaru Nashville!!

June 2017 - Nashville Subaru Loves to Care - Adrienne S

During National Cancer Survivor Month (June), Downtown Nashville Subaru supported The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in an effort to make a positive impact on the health & wellness of our local community. Throughout the month of June, Downtown Nashville Subaru customers and employees wrote personal messages of hope for patients fighting cancers in Nashville in support of Subaru Loves to Care. And in the beginning of July, Downtown Nashville Subaru & the LLS delivered over 200 messages alongside blankets and arts & crafts kits donating them to patients undergoing treatment at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center and The Children’s Hospital at TriStar Centennial. We LOVED getting to help brighten the day in a small way for those going through treatments. #SubaruLovesToCare #SubaruLovePromise
